Return of the happys

Here are some of my happys from this week.

1. The sense of achievement and satisfaction I felt when I handed in my dissertation proposal three weeks early! BOOM.

2. The greater sense of achievement and satisfaction I felt from handing in another assignment the day afterwards.
You better believe I've had a very productive week.
I now plan on doing absolutely nothing university related this weekend.

3. Singing old school Kelly Clarkson songs at the top of my voice and thinking that I sound exactly like her.
Yes, I know that I am seriously deluded, in reality I sound nothing (and I mean nothing) like her, but in the moment of getting lost in the power ballads of the early 2000s, I am her voice twin.

4. Finding a new recipe for butternut squash soup that is SO good I made it twice in one week.

5. My hair finally being long enough to tie in a knot again.
(I am rejoicing so much at this fact! Why did I ever cut my hair short?!)

6. Lipstick.
Just in general.

7.  Finally mastering Harvard Referencing.
After four years I'm finally getting it.

8. Sleeping in until 10am today.

9. Watching over and over one specific clip of Cam from Modern Family.
He is by far my favourite character.
Surprisingly, he's not gay in real life?!

10. Dinners with friends.
I don't need to justify adding this to my list.
I mean, come on...food and friends?
Win/Win.

There aren't enough days in the weekend

Here are a few reasons why this weekend was the bomb dot com.
♥ Over usage of the phrase 'the bomb dot com' in loud American accents.
♥ Emily coming to visit for the weekend.
♥ All of the TREATS that Emily brought for us.
We would have enjoyed her visit anyway, but treats made it 100x better.
♥ The new season of Modern Family starting.
One question though, WHY IS LILY SO BIG?!
♥ Sleeping in until 10am on Saturday morning.
♥ Hair bows.
And I mean actual bows made of hair.
Emily was accomodating and let me practice on her.
That there pictcha is of the first draft.
♥ Starting a new book.
♥ Clean sheets on the bed.
♥ Going on a ghost walk in York & Ross making me jump so badly that I cried a little bit.
I am not even joking.

Simples

Well, my last post was all about me moaning/complaining/being a professional negative Nancy.
Well, today was a much better day, so combat all of the negative energy I put out into the world, I'm going to counterbalance it with a little list of simple happys.

1. Blueberries that are perfectly chilled from the fridge.
2. Coming home from school today with five kiddie-made cards that all said "Mrs Kerr I love you."
Or variations of that at least.
One said I really like you and one said I like your hair.
For me, that basically equates to love.
3. Walking around the park in the cool evening sun with lots of lovely sisters.
4. Chip shop chips with lots of vinegar.
5. Opening my lunch box at school and seeing that Ross has individually wrapped each half of my sandwich in more tin foil than I would ever think was necessary.
6. Having got the car back a day earlier than we first thought.
7. Tron. Ross is watching this film & LOVING it.
8. Almost being half way through my placement.
9. Wearing a dress and lipstick and feeling like a real lady.
10. The orchid that Ross bought for me.
Although, he says that the orchid is a representation of my love for him, so I feel kinda pressured not to let it die....

Merci

Thank you to this massive tree. I just love how huge it is. It makes me feel so small. It's a perspective giving tree. You know, Ghandi style "nearly everything you do is of no importance, but it's important that you do it." BOOM. Perspective.

Thank you to dried cranberries. You have made plain old cereal a little bit a lot better this week, because there is nothing worse than plain, old cereal.

Thank you to this four day weekend that's about to happen. I know, a little premature to thank it before it's even happened, but what will there not be to love about time spent with family, at the beach, in the countryside probably consuming massive amounts of ice cream and fish and chips? Nothing.

Thank you to the bright pink spray paint that has made some of my photo frames look absolutely rocking.

Thank you to guacamole. That's all.

Thank you to my Mom & Dad for believing the story I told them about a swarm of butterflies that flew into my house and stole an Easter egg. I love that even though I'm grown you still play along with me.

Thank you to the woman at Asda on Monday that just packed all of my bags for me without me even asking. I was completely capable of doing it myself, but I was grateful anyway.

Thank you to the glorious sunshine. You've made our April uncharacteristically warm and you even make been stuck in traffic more enjoyable. Seriously. Also, dearest sunshine, we all love and appreciate you very much, so please stay for a bit longer. Actually, please stay for a lot longer.

Sayin thank you

This photo has nothing to do with the post. I just like it. Kthanks.

♥ Thank you yesterday. You saw me hand in my assignment, which I am NOT sorry to see go and will NOT be missed, and you saw me do some pretty marvellous things in the kitchen. Thursday, you were good to me.

♥ Thank you to Adele. As in the singer. She is a soul mama. Set fire to the rain is my favourite song right now. I like to sing it as loud as I can and imagine that I sound like you. I don't, but it's fun.

♥ Thank you to my new lipstick. You are the perfect casual shade of pink and go with everything. And even if you don't I'm going to wear you anyway.

♥ Thank you Ross. When I am full of self pity, you do things like this. Nothing makes me laugh more than when you your craziness takes dance form. You are da bomb. Diggity.

♥ Thank you Chlo & Jar. We have spent so much time with you over the last few months. The boys play COD and we are best friends so we can just sit in silence and it's still nice.
Thank you for always saying that everything that I make is delicious. It makes me feel like I'm good at something.

♥ Thank you to the English countryside. You are so close by and natureish. I feel so lucky to be surrounded by so much green.

♥ Thank you to Modern Family. You made me laugh a lot this week.

♥ Thank you to my real life fam. I have so much love and happiness in my life because of you. Mom, Pops you are mainly crazy but I love you both a mazillion.

List of happys take 3

I wish that I'd remembered to tell myself to smile in this photo.
1. Finally getting to see the sun SHINE for once.
2. Going to Temple Newsam. It's so beautiful.
3. Having 4 different flavours of squash in the cupboard.
4. Mr.K doing the dishes way more than me this week.
5. Ditching the gym to hang out with friends instead.
6. Not having to set an alarm this morning.
7. People saying thank you when I let them out a junction.
8. Naps.
9. Snuggling under blankets in the dark with the Mr. while we endlessly watch Scrubs and cry at pretty much every episode.
10. Being half way done with writing my essay.
11. Dusting off some of my old journals and reading through them. I used to be such a weirdo.
12. Waking up in the middle of the night and thinking it's time to get up, when actually it's only 5am and I have an extra two and a bit hours in bed.

List of Happys part 2

Here are my list of happys/weekly splendipites.

1. Being in Momma & Poppa K's house with all of the family having a takeaway and good times.
2. Watching Mr.K's brother CJ get Ava-B to dance and say "thank you master". Funniest/cutest thing of the day. I should have taken a picture.
3. Wearing an outfit that made me feel positively European today. Skinny jeans, stripes and a blazer. Je suis practiquellement Frencaise. Practically anyway.
4. Celebrating Subway's 10th Birthday by buying a medium drink and then getting a 6" sub for free. For your mental picture: Sweet onion chicken teriyaki with extra cheese.
5. Buying Easter eggs for £1 each.
6. ZUMBA(AHHHHHH)
7. The two identical clocks on Momma K's mantel piece.
8. Setting up another Skype double date for next week.
9. Being on the cross trainer in the gym and some random media student asking if they can film me. Slightly perplexed, ermmm yeah, ok. She says, oh but don't worry, we won't film your face. Not sure if I should have taken offence. I found it quite amusing actually.
10. Curling my hair and it actually looking nice. At least according to me.
11. Realising how happy I am not to live on the edge of a tectonic plate.

Do you have a list of happys for the week? Or even generally? Tell me. Tell me!

Enjoy your Saturday & Sunday.

List of Happys

When I woke up in the during one of the small hours of the morning and couldn't get back to sleep I compiled a little lists of happys that had happened this week. I might even call them my weeks splendipities. When I couldn't think of what to write today I decided to share them. Maybe it will become a bit of a featureish.

Here are some highlights. Highlights of the weekly kind, not the hair kind.

1. Banana pancakes with cinnamon syrup.
2. Somebody finally asking where my top was from and finally being able to answer "oh, I got in it France." Ooh la la.
3. Mr.K not being able to hide my secret Easter egg any longer.
4. Wearing homemade Chinese lanterns on your head.
5. Having my ipod on shuffle and waking up to the greatest song ever. (Drops of Jupiter by Train.
6. Using the words splendipities, even though it probably isn't a real word.
7. A full eight hours of sleep.
8. Being able to wear my sunglasses for reals.
9. Organising my crepe party. At last.
10. My Mom's voices when I've finally realised my phone is ringing after she's called me about 17 times and she says "Webecca, where have you beeen?"

Have a splendid weekend!
